A beautifully and tightly woven Antique American Oak Splint Buttocks Basket from the 19th century. One band of oak makes the handle and another the band. Lovely patina that takes on a honeyed dark walnut color. The bottom of the basket shows signs of wear, but is still sturdy. See photos. At 14.5" in length is a perfect size for any space.
